Something About: Primo Segno
What does Primo Segno mean?
To explain its meaning, let’s go back in time, to rediscover the role of wine in the era of ancient Rome. Wine was not only the medium for achieving a dialogue with the gods, it was also of fundamental importance for commerce, so that every time the Romans conquered a territory they planted vineyards there, thus exporting and spreading the art of winegrowing. This was their Primo Segno, the “first sign” that they left on an area and on the culture of the peoples they conquered.
For us, Primo Segno means the taking root of our idea of sangiovese in Romagna, the fulfilment of our dream. A glass of Primo Segno contains all of Villa Venti.
